i. What is List in HTML?
Ans. List plays a significant role in our daily life. It enables us to arrange data items in managing way.
ii. How many lists can be created in an HTML document? Name them.
Ans. HTML provides three different types of lists - Unordered list, Ordered List and description lists to be used in a web page.
iii. Write the difference between an ordered and an unordered list.
Ans. An ordered list is basically a numbered list of items. That follows a specific sequence. <OL> </OL> tags are used to create an ordered list.
Whereas An Unordered list is a bullet list of items. That does not follow a specific sequence. <UL></UL> tags are used to create an unordered list.
iv. What are Nested list? Explain with the help of an example.
Ans. When multiple lists are combined to each other is known as Nested list. In Nested list multiple lists inside another list.

v. How can you add tables in a web page? Discuss with the help of an example.
Ans. Tables allow you to arrange text in a tabular form on a web page. A table consists of rows and columns. <Table> and </table> tags are used to create a table in table tag.
<TR> and </TR> tags are used to define table rows.
<TD> and </TD> tags are used to create table cells.
<TH> and </TH> tags are used to create column headers.
vi. How can you format the appearance of a table?
Ans. The Table tag has various attributes such as bgcolor, border, border color and many more, to improve the appearance of a table.
Attribute and their Use -
BGCOLOR - IT specifies the background colour of a table
BORDERCOLOR - It specifies the border colour of a table
BORDER - It specifies the width of border of a table
ALIGN - It specifies the alignment of a table
HEIGHT - It specifies the height of a table
WIDTH - It specifies the width of a table
CELLPADDING - It specifies a distance between the boundaries of the
cell and the data written in the cell.
CELLSPACING - It specifies a distance between two cell
vii. Which HTML tag is used to insert an image in a web page? Write an option used with this tag?
Ans. <IMG> tag is used to insert an image in a web page. This tag used the options like src, alt etc.
viii. Name the values that can be assigned to align attribute of <IMG> tag.
Ans. The values that can be assigned to align attribute of <IMG> tag are as follows:
• Top
• Bottom
• Left
• Right
• Middle
ix. Explain linking-
Ans. When one web page or a text fragment is connected to another web page, then it is called linking. It is of two types – internal linking and external linking.
x. How is external linking different from internal linking?
Ans. External link is a type of linking that goes to another website. It is a linking of two different documents. While, internal linking is a type of linking that links pages within a single website, various sections of same document or different document.
xi. Name the attributes of <A> tag which are used for internal linking in a web page.
Ans. The attributes of <A> tag which are used for internal linking in a web page as follow:-
• Href used to specify the URL of the segment the link goes to.
• Name gives the name to the segment.
xii. What is the purpose of using the attributes href in <A> tag?
Ans. The href stands for hypertext reference. The href attributes is used with <A> tag to specify link to some other HTML page or website.
xiii. What is the purpose of mailto function?
Ans. The mailto function is used to send E-mail messages to multiple recipients.
2) Fill in the blanks.
I. The TYPE attribute specifies a Bullet to be used in an UNORDERED list.
II. <LI> tag is used inside <OL> </OL> tags to specify a list item.
III. By default, a NUMBERED LIST is used to display an ordered list.
